Son of Achav and Izevel, king two years. He fell through the lattice of his upper chamber and sent to inquire of Baal-zevuv god of Ekron; Eliyahu (Eliyahu) intercepted the messengers with the sentence — "is it for lack of a God in Israel?" — and he died childless; his brother Yehoram succeeded.
