City on the Kinneret that became the last and longest seat of the Sanhedrin and the center of Torah in Eretz Yisrael through the amoraic era: Rabbi Yochanan's academy taught there, the Yerushalmi crystallized there, and centuries later the Masoretes fixed the Tanakh's text there.
