Savoraim רבנן סבוראי
The corporate body of sages who followed Ravina II, the end of hora'ah — modeled here like the Zekenim (Zekenim (the Elders)), because tradition remembers them collectively rather than as a chain of named teacher–student links. Per Rav Sherira Gaon they added no new hora'ah but fixed explanatory material and settled what "hung unresolved"; parts of the Talmud's anonymous framework are attributed to their hands.

| The savoraic roster is inherently sparse, and by the Iggeret's own account: "most of the rabbanan savorai died within a few years, as the geonim explained in their books of remembrance" — so Sherira's record of the era is a death-roll, not a succession. Every savora he names is now entered: the death-roll of 504–515 CE as members of this body (Rabana Sama bar Yehudah–Mar Zutra bar Chinena, roles with death years only), and the few with any office — Rabbah Yosef, Rav Eina, Rav Simona, Ravai of Rov (Rabbah Yosef, Rav Eina, Rav Simona, Ravai of Rov) — with year-less headship roles at their academies. No tenure years exist to record, and none were invented.
